The first chapter told the romance of the courageous and strong woman Frida Kahlo, with a modern cultural life in İstanbul in the Autumn Winter 2016 collection ‘Frida in İstanbul’.

Continuing the idea of craftsmanship expressed through outstanding and visionary characters with a mysterious side, Creative director and foun- der Gül Ağış decided to take Agatha Christie to İstanbul önce again for the LUG VON SIGA Spring Summer 2017 collection ‘Agatha in İstanbul’. The collection was showedon in last October, in the impressive scenery of the Pera Palace Hotel in Istanbul.

The mystery of a woman, who disappeared for ten days and left only a key in her room no. 411 in the Pera Palace Hotel, underlines the theme of a remarkable collection that speaks for the confidence and uniqueness of the LUG VON SIGA woman.

The highlights of the collection are the sophisticated prints and detailed embroidery, deep v neck flowing silhouettes stitched on natural fabrics, reminding us of the early 1930’s when the Capital of ‘Konstantinopel’ was renamed ‘İstanbul’.

Along with modern silhouettes and fine embellishments each piece telis its own mystery and underlines the rich cultural background as the signature of LUG VON SIGA.

WHO IS GÜL AĞIŞ? THE STORYBEHIND THE BRAND

The first collection named ‘Hammam Decadance’ telis the anecdote of the life and emotions among women during the early days of the old city of Istanbul.

This was the beginning and place where in 2010 Gul Agis started writing the success story of LUG VON SIGA, the acronym of her name, reflecting a new aesthetic and eclectic style, originated from her rich cultural heritage.

Since then LUG VON SIGA collections express the romance of the courageous strong woman with a modern cultural life.

Following the successful launch of the first seasons of the brand during Istanbul Fashion Week, LUG VON SIGA collections were soon showcased at London Fashion Week for three seasons starting with Spring/Summer 2013.

Each collection reveals a different aspect of craftsmanship underlined with the love for embroidery and details forming the signature of the brand.

The story of LUG VON SIGA continues with a turning point for the brand in 2014, when Agis was chosen by Mercedes Benz as one of the most talented designers and presented her brand first during Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Istanbul.

Followed by an invitation by IMG to present LUG VON SIGA during the opening night of Mercedes Benz Fashion Days in Zürich in November 2014 and at MBFW in Madrid in the following season.

By this time LUG VON SIGA has become internationally known as a successful designer brand and is chosen by VOGUE Italy and Turkish Leather Brands to create a capsule collection, which was presented at Pitti Uomo at Palazzo Cappone in Florence and sold at ‘La Rinascente’ in Milan.

Through the dedication to express the Vision of the LUG VON SIGA vvoman, Agis created a brand which is renowned for the innovative and often surprising use of embroidery and embellishment that transforms each piece into an unique sequence of a powerful story.
