Nowadays, vacationers are more interested in seeing secluded, untravelled places. This seems to be the new trend. Historical, cultural destinations are more popular among younger travellers. Some of the destinations we suggest here are places you can go for a short weekend trip, while others are more suitable for a long period of time.

1. FARALYA

If you want to have a vacation surrounded with nature and history, Faralya is a perfect choice.The official name is Uzunyurt, a region in Fethiye, about 40 square kilometers large. In this region is Butterflies Valley, Kabak Bay and part of the Lycian Way. We can say that Faralya is a destination for Yoga lovers.

2. KUYUCAK VILLAGE

This village is one of the latest discoveries in Turkey. The lavender fields in early summer, make you feel like you are in the Provence, in France. Kuyucak is a village in Isparta, a city famous for its roses. Lately we have been hearing more about the purple lavender fields rather than the rose gardens.

3. LAKE ÇUBUK

This beautiful lakeside is perfect for camping. It is at a 20 km distance to Göynük, Bursa. The lake is small and surrounded with trees. A perfect summer destination for camp lovers.

4. URLA

A small town 40 km to İzmir on the Agean coast. It hasn’t been travelled to as much as Çeşme, a little further out, so it is better preserved. You can also visit historical sites close by.

5. ÇIRALI

This summer destination is on the Mediterranean shore, at a half an hour drive to Kemer, Antalya. The beach is 3,2 km long. You can also observe the turtles here.

6. THE PLATEAU OF POKUT

Situated in the Eastern Black Sea Region, Pokut is at an altitude of 2050 meters. It is only 24 km to Rize, Çamlıhemşin. The fresh, breezy air is a treat in the hot summer days.

7. BOZBURUN

Even though Bozburun is in Marmaris, it is not one of the overpopulated places there. Bozburun is at a 40 km distance to the city center of Marmaris. It is the town where the famous Mediterranean “Gulet” boats are made.

8. BERGAMA

It is a must see historical site, near İzmir. If you are travelling in the Agean region, Bergama is one of the places you really should add to your to do list.

9. LAKE BAFA

There are certain places where you can swim in the lake, which is on the way to Bodrum. But Lake Bafa is well-known for the ancient town known as Heraklia.

10. DOGANBEY VIHAGE

This interesting village is in Söke, Aydın. However it is 34 km to the town center. It used to be a Greek village and its name was Donatia. It is good to visit the village for a day or two.
