Contemporary Art From Istanbul To New York

Çağla Cabaoğlu Gallery took part in the Scope New York Art Show Held in the beginning of march with an installation comprising of the works of 32 contemporary artists.

Held for the 7th time this year, the Scope New York Art Show was held at the Chelsea, Metropolitan Pavilion in New York City, attended by 60 different international galleries. Çağla Cabaoğlu Gallery will be participating in the Scope New York Art Show with “Istanbul’s Cabinet of Curiosities”.

Following Miami Scope Art Show, Çağla Cabaoğlu Gallery providing its Services in İstanbul for 17 years, introduced this time its mural collage installation where multidisciplinary works inspired by the city, stepping forth from the cultural layers of İstanbul under the concept titled “Istanbul’s Cabinet of Curiosities” at Scope New York Art Show.

“Istanbul’s Cabinet of Curiosities” concept is at the same time a suggestion regarding intercultural dialogue and transitivity.

Cabinet of Curiosities is a Symbol of curiosity, research & inquiry, propagating knowledge, prestige, and new perspectives. Further to being a symbolic conveyance of the personal universe, transformation of whatever belongs to the culture and accumulation of humanity.

The project realized by participation of 32 different artists from different generations is at the same time attempting to attract attention to Turkey’s semicentennial artistic creation through exhibition of these artists.
